I have had the pleasure of both being a mentored and engaging in mentoring juniors within my career at North Construction. Over the past 20 years, I have developed a passion for the goal setting and accountability that is experienced with good quality mentoring and leadership. I ensured my mentors were pushing me to be the best, but I now understand the benefits of firm accountability and discuss it with the leading hands and foreman that I myself were also mentoring.

In addition, during 2020 I actively engaged a Professional Coach to encourage me and guide me through this changing state of my career. I thrive off pressure, and I’ve been able to take every part of people management and programming that I have harnessed within my career and spread it across my entire life. Benefiting not only myself, but my team and loved ones alike.

I’m especially proud of the team and culture I have created at my current project in Whistler. Hiring skilled, like minded individuals with attitude at the forefront of my requirements for new staff. Then discussing upfront what their personal and career dreams might be. Once we set this tone for our relationship it allows clear and effective communication for training of their strengths/weaknesses and threats/opportunities.

I feel lucky to have had the family, upbringing and construction training throughout my life and I take great pride in being able to help others achieve their goals, by passing on what I have been so fortunate to learn.
